Hi everyone! I'm Kari from That's-Sew-Kari and I'm beyond excited for my first post here! When "shopping" for my selection, I knew I wanted to try a base I hadn't used before. I recently sewed up the Club Jersey and French Terry and loved them. I've always wanted to try Rayon Challis, but was a bit intimidated. Rayon is a man-made fabric made of natural fibers. It's lightweight and has excellent drape!
The Black Brown and Cream Painted Leopard Print stopped me dead in my tracks. I nearly interrupted my daughter's online class to show her! I just knew my tween would LOVE it. It was love at first sight for her too!!
I've basically given her full reign over pattern choice at this point and she's got a great sense of what pattern will showcase fabric best. For this fabric, she chose Marigold by Peony Patterns and I love using a flowy fabric for it. It's a babydoll style dress with an optional sweetheart neckline, gathered puffy sleeves and a fully functional button placket down the front. My daughter always chooses the mini length and the style really suits her petite frame.
