Hi RCF friends! I’m Mary from Sew Mary Mac and I’m so excited to be part of the RCF Promo team this year. I have been sewing with RCF French terry and rayon challis for a few years now and they are my absolute favorite!
When selecting my fabric for this post, I wanted to pick something that was new to me- PONTE! I was thrilled when I unboxed this beautiful black, brown and cream houndstooth check!
RCF Ponte is a nice stable knit and is extremely easy to work with! It has a similar stretch to Cotton spandex, but is thicker and more structured. I think this ponte is perfect for pants, joggers, pencil skirts and jackets.
I decided to make the York Pinafore, a jumper pattern from Helen’s Closet that is designed for wovens. This fabric works perfectly for this pattern since the weight of the Ponte adds structure but the stretch makes it so comfy to wear! This York is fun and casual, but can be dressed up depending on the occasion.
This Ponte jumper is the perfect addition to my Fall/Winter wardrobe and it doesn’t wrinkle! And did I mention how comfortable it is!?!?
I will definitely be sewing with RCF Ponte again! I love wearing shift dresses in Spring/Summer and I think this Ponte would be perfect! (Now to convince Diana we need a gingham Ponte for Spring!)
