We selected the Mustard Yellow Sage and Brown Sunflower Floral by Elise Patterson in Double Brushed Poly and it's perfect for the warming temps. If you haven't sewn Double Brushed Poly yet, it's so soft! It honestly feels like wearing a cloud. The Forever Collection prints features 15 of the past best-selling prints -- 7 are available in DBP and some of the others have jersey or FT options too. The Sunflower print is available on all 3 bases -- DBP, Jersey and FT.
For the second portion of my experiment, I wanted to find a boxy crop tee. This style tee is very on trend now and I had to try it out for my tween! Luckily, Little Lizard King just released Marin and it was exactly what I was hunting. I made a tiny change in the sleeve length though as I knew my daughter would not want the longer short sleeve. I used the sleeve from the colorblocked option and simply left off the bottom colorblocking. She paired these with a new pair of jean shorts she snagged during her birthday shopping spree! This tee was quickly declared the winner of the experiment and I think her pictures reflect how confident it makes her.
After seeing the project come to life, it is really eye-opening how much a pattern choice can make a difference. While she liked the dress, she wouldn't take the tee off! I think her little sister has stolen the dress from her so all is not lost. HA! What about you -- are you #teamdress or #teamtee?
