Hi y'all! I'm Kari from That's-Sew-Kari and I'm back with my latest sew for my tween. She loves fashion and being in middle school means she needs to feel cool, especially to be rocking handmade. This is where Raspberry Creek Fabrics delivers EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
We selected the Tonal Dusty Pink and Black Leopard Print in Double Brushed Poly and it's pure love. If you haven't sewn Double Brushed Poly yet, you really need to try it! DBP (as it's most commonly referred in the sewing world) is a buttery soft knit with 4-way stretch, excellent recovery and is "brushed" on both sides -- which is what makes it so soft. The drape is really amazing too.
I found this DBP to be very easy to work with. Some knits can be fiddly when sewing, but this didn't slip around, stretch out easily or give me any trouble. I finally found the perfect settings on my coverstitch for hemming too. I do have a secret tip that makes running my seams through my serger super quick without clips. I put little dabs of tacky glue in the SA and let it dry and my fabric doesn't shift! (This works on your sewing machine too -- just remember small dabs just to hold it.)
There are so many gorgeous prints in this base. I need to order some more because I'm pretty sure my daughter wants this dress for every day of the week! See more thoughts and pics on my blog! You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram ♡

Join Mary as she compares and contrasts the drape of three of our woven fabrics from the shop. She sewed the same top in all three fabrics and it is so interesting to see how each one behaves differently!
