Hey there, fellow sewists! This is Shara from Handmade Nelly, and I am excited to share my love for Raspberry Creek with you! Today, let’s talk about the design library.
Have you had a chance to check out the design library yet? It is an amazing place where all sorts of dreams can come true. Did you know that Raspberry Creek can print on TWENTY-FIVE bases?! With the design library you have access to all of those bases, and the team has pointed out which designs work for natural vs. synthetic bases.
Another amazing part about the design library is that it means we still have access to amazing designs from past collections! We hit the tie dye trend hard at my house when it came around, and it still happens to be a favorite. I bought a couple yards of this gorgeous tie dye print on double-brushed poly last year, but that still wasn’t enough. My oldest daughter wanted more, and I was happy to oblige.
I am a huge fan of athletic knit (I don’t care what anyone says – leggings all day every day will never go out of style), and so I knew I needed to give RCF’s athletic performance knit a go. Yep, it’s a winner. The print is gorgeous, the fabric has a great texture and weight, and it was amazing to work with.
I decided to spoil my girls with some sporty tie-dye outfits for our upcoming summer that would be just perfect in this base, and we had a lot of fun planning everything out.

First up was an outfit for my oldest, Norah. She’s still trying to figure out her style (although she knows that she detests dresses – ha ha!), and I want to help her with that task. She has been especially interested in rompers lately, but her measurements pretty much rule out store-bought as an option. Luckily, her momma knows how to sew. I showed Norah the Valparaiso romper from Little Lizard King, and she just had to have it, with pockets, of course.

With Norah’s outfit finished, it was time for a coordinating outfit for Shelby, the baby of the family. Shelby chooses a t-shirt and leggings to wear practically every day (I guess she takes after her mom), but I figured I’d try to win her over with something more exciting, something with a little flair.

The Solvang pattern from Little Lizard King is not your average leggings pattern – it’s packed full of fun options! For Shelby, I made her shorts using the shorties length with the partial skirt. The idea of these being both shorts and a skirt blew Shelby’s mind! Definitely a sewing mom win!

I finished the outfit off with a super quick Glastonbury tank top from Little Lizard King using a solid light blue cotton-spandex from the shop, and now we have a super cute summer outfit ready to go!
Thanks to the design library and Little Lizard King, my girls have their favorite summer outfits ready to go. Luckily they’re not too cool to love a coordinating sister set!
