'Tis the season for extra holiday get togethers, making it the perfect time to sew something special for your next gathering! Our team took on the challenge of spotlighting 5 of our special occasion fabrics and did a fabulous job. Read below for fabric and pattern details.
Summer started our spotlight week with her lovely red stretch velvet dress. Isn't this color beautiful on her?
She used the Tofino from Styla Patterns. Red isn't the only color we stock, check out our other colors here.
Jenny sewed this little dress for her daughter. Just look at it, can you imagine the twirl factor? A girl's dream.
Jenny used the LeiLani Dress from Vintage Little Lady with a puff sleeve hack and a cute santa print she found in our custom printing library. She had it printed on our stretch crepe, a great choice for a full coverage print like this.
Liesl took on the challenge of using Robert Kaufman flannel as a special occasion fabric. I love that depending on how she (or her son) styles it, it can be worn to a fancy party or just as an every day top.
If you haven't tried Robert Kaufman flannel before, you are missing out. It looks great year after year and has great plaid options as well as options like two toned, geometric or speckled multi-color. Liesl used the Patterns for Pirates Lumberjack.
Dana sewed this beautiful dress for herself in one of our air flow solids. The details on this dress are just perfect, and this is another instance where depending on how she chooses to style it she can go from fancy holiday party to every day wear.
She used the Meet You There by Pattern Emporium. We stock many solid colors of air flow, as well as some fun prints, so be sure to check them out!
And Zayna rounded out our week, she took on the challenge of being the first to sew with our new satin charmeuse. That collar? I think she sold me on this pattern. I love that there are so many ways she will be able to style this dress by changing out jewelry and shoes.
She used the Friday Pattern Co. Wilder Gown in the deep teal colorway.
I hope this post inspires you to check out our selection of special occasion fabrics for your next event. These ladies made a wide variety of looks and barely scratched the surface of possibilites. I can't wait to see more fancy sewing popping up in our facebook group. Speaking of which, are you a member? Come join us there for even more inspiration!
