Autumn is my favorite season and I am in full swing sewing for it! Layers are a must for the cooler weather and oh so cute! I decided to sew up the newly released Amaryllis Dress from Wild Seeds Patterns. This dress pattern is loaded with beautiful options but I went with the collared version for this outfit. I chose the English Garden floral print on Rayon Challis. If you haven’t tried the Rayon Challis yet you need to because the drape on this base is dreamy and it is so soft and light, which is perfect for a dress with twirl! The colors on the English Garden Print are so pretty and perfect for any season!
Most every layered dress needs a pinafore and I do love pinafores! There are so many cute ones out there to choose from! I went with the Autumn Pinafore from Violette Field Threads. This pinafore has the cutest crossed strap back and a waistband that is perfect for embroidery! For this pinafore I chose to use the Mist Dusty Green Linen by Robert Kaufman and oh how I love this linen! I have no idea why I do not sew with linen more! Part of the reason being I didn’t know many places to buy some from and I am so happy that I now know that Raspberry Creek sells linen! This linen has a beautiful drape and is soft. Can you tell I love
fabrics with great drape!?
For the last layer I chose to make a sweater because every outfit for cooler weather
needs a cute sweater! I used the Dusty Mustard Bamboo Cotton Spandex Sweatshirt fleece for the first time and oh boy is it soft and cozy! I used the Tess Cardigan from Violette Field threads with an added ruffle. She can’t wait for the weather to be cool enough to wear this whole outfit all together! If you haven’t tried the Rayon Challis, Linen, and Sweatshirt fleece you need too!
