Happy Holidays! One of my favorite things to make this time of year are Christmas PJ’s. I’m usually sewing them late on Christmas Eve, but not this year. I might be able to get some sleep this year on Christmas Eve.
Instead of making the PJ’s a surprise, I had my kids help pick out fabric designs. We thought it would be fun if they coordinated but not necessarily matched. My advice is to pick a few coordinating collections your kids might like or you will be at the computer all day while they scroll. Often the designer will group prints together in a collection which makes it easier to pick fabrics that go together. My kids got most excited by the Christmas prints designed by KristeninStitches. They chose the Rib Knit fabric base since it is light and soft.

My teen chose Christmas Bows on Winter White. I paired the fabric with the Constance Sweater and the Movie Night PJ Pants, both from Sew a Little Seam. This is probably one of my most sewn pajama combinations. You know it is good when it is teen approved.

My son chose the Groovy Christmas Collection Retro Checkerboard. It was no surprise that he chose this fabric for the trucks, but Santa in sunglasses is also cool. This year my son asked for pants that were not fitted. I grabbed the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants from Project Run and Play. I loved all the options and knew I could use this pattern year-round. The top is another Constance from Sew a Little Seam. Now he has requested more PJ bottoms from the Sweet Dreams Pattern.

My youngest daughter chose Christmas Bows on Colorful Retro Checkerboard which links the whole set together. The retro checkerboard matches her brother, and the bows match her sister. My daughter requested a short sleeve top this year so I used the Dolman Tee from Lowland Kids. The pants are the Movie Night PJ Pants. She was so happy with her PJ’s that she took pics in short sleeves while it was snowing and did not complain.

Raspberry Creek Fabrics have been a part of our Christmas tradition for many years. You can see from the pictures how much they have grown through the years, but also how much they enjoy our tradition too. I also love it when Christmas PJ’s sewn by others start popping up in the Raspberry Creek Facebook group. I can’t wait to be inspired.
((As a bonus, here are some RCF pajamas sewn by Dana from years past!))
