I’m Emily, a Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator. I’m known for creating whimsical designs, which are detailed, intricate, and that tell a story. I’ve always been obsessed with pattern, and while all of my work starts out as hand drawn illustrations, my favorite aspect of designing is finding ways to combine those hand-drawn elements into pleasing repeating patterns. I studied Fashion Design at FIT in NYC, before obtaining my masters degree in Textile Design from CCA in California. I spent many years working in the fast paced world of the fashion industry before devoting myself completely to working in Surface Pattern Design. When I’m not creating art in my studio, you can find me and my children, exploring the forests and beaches that surround our home in beautiful coastal Maine.
