Kate is the artist and maker behind Dyes Happy. With a degree and background in fashion design, quilting, and textile dyeing, fabric has been part of her life for a very long time. After surviving cancer, Kate decided to take her quilt business in a new direction and Dyes Happy grew into what it is today. Her work combines hand dyeing, painting, drawing, photography, and digital illustration, with each design beginning with her own original artwork. She loves bold color, interesting shapes, old textiles, and pretty much everything about Portugal. Her work ranges from abstracts and geometrics to florals, shibori, and designs influenced by traditional Portuguese azulejos. For Kate, the fun is in making the artwork and then seeing what someone else creates with it.
