A 1986 graduate of Art Center College of Design, Johanna Girard has almost 40 years’ experience as a commercial illustrator, fine art landscape and portrait painter and art instructor. Only recently has the artist begun to try her hand at surface pattern design for fabrics and wallpaper. Her designs are inspired by the natural beauty of California, colorful wildflowers, the delicate textures of native grasses and even bold geometric patterns seen in rugged rock formations in the mountains.
