I am an artist, seamstress, writer, and an avid gardener who loves to travel. I work in watercolors, oils and acrylics as well as pencil and colored pencil. As a military spouse, I lived coast to coast and visited foreign countries, all of which inspires my work. As a seamstress, making clothing for my children and myself, I have often been disappointed by the lack of variety in available fabric designs. I have long wanted to get involved in designing my own fabrics and for the last four years I have been enjoying this journey in fabric design using my hand painted art. I am also a quilter with many quilters in our family. When I design, I often build a coordinating collection around a focal fabric, keeping the quilter in mind as well as anyone with other projects. That brings in polka dots, checks, stripes, plaids, geometrics and even some watercolor blended types of design. I love to design for children and adults, vintage and modern, realistic and fantasy worlds, whimsical and artistic. Creating a world of wonder for children as well as adults is part of my goal. I want adults and children alike to enjoy exploring the hidden worlds in fabrics that I create for them. Sewing should be fun and a way for all of us to express our creativity.
