Have you ever wondered how to print your own custom t-shirt panels? We've created some Canva templates to help get you started!
T-shirt panels are so fun! They can be used for anything from holiday pajamas to family reunion shirts to baby announcements.
In this blog post we will walk through how to take a graphic or logo and use our Canva t-shirt panel templates to create custom t-shirt panels.
What graphics should you use to create custom t-shirt panels?
You can create your own graphics. Just want a funny saying or a simple graphic, Canva is a free design software and is a great place to create those. There are loads of Canva tutorials out there, so I'm not going to get into the nitty gritty of designing. Just a quick google search will have you creating graphics for your custom panels in no time.
If creating your own graphic is not in your wheelhouse, you can purchase graphics. Etsy and Creative Market are great places to purchase graphics for printing. If you are purchasing graphics, please make sure you purchase the correct license for your intended use.
I have my graphics, now what?
Using the links below, open one of our t-shirt panel templates.
This is what you should see. A layout with text on it. Please make sure to read these instructions! They will help you get the correct scale and placement of your graphics.
Once the template is opened in Canva, you will see ‘uploads’ in the left-hand menu.
Upload your graphics.
Now that our t-shirt graphic is uploaded, click on it. It will populate into the Canva template.
I created a graphic to mimic a family reunion type shirt. You can see the ‘Rammell, Est 2003’ text. That is the text I will use for my custom t-shirt panels.
Now, follow the instructions listed on the template. Each template has a set of instructions specific to the size of panel being created, adult vs. child.
Replace the text box in the template with the graphic you wish to have on your panel by scaling the graphic to the same size as the place holder text box and then deleting the text box.
Do this for every graphic placement on the template.
Once all graphics are scaled and positioned properly, DELETE THE INSTRUCTIONS OFF THE TEMPLATE! We don’t want those printing on your design file. That would be sad.
My panel is created, what's the next step?
Now that your custom t-shirt panel layout is created, it’s time to rename and download it from Canva and upload it to the Raspberry Creek custom printing page.
To rename the file, just type over the ‘Adult Panel (29x36) Custom Print Layout’ text to the left of the share button. Take note of this name, this will help you find the correct file to upload for printing.
Now, it’s time to download.
-Click the ‘share’ button in the upper right corner.
-Click ‘download’
-Select either jpg or png file type and select download again.
This will download your file to your computer. You can then upload this file for printing.
Upload Your Custom T-Shirt Panel for Printing
When uploading this panel layout for printing, change the width to 58 inches. This will ensure the panel prints at the proper sizing of 2 adult panels or 3 child panels to a yard. You can double check this by making sure the preview/zoom is set to the 58 inch preview width.
The sky is the limit with these custom t-shirt panels! What are you going to create first?! Make sure to share your creations and tag us in your social media posts. We LOVE seeing what you all create!
